Christmas Push Up cakes

Christmas Push Up Cakes

I know we have a little way to go before it is Christmas, but I am already getting excited.  There are so many gorgeous new Christmas decorations in the shops and I am already thinking about all the delicious Christmas dishes and desserts I can cook for friends and family.

Although I love cooking I am always looking for good standby products to simplify my life and allow me to prepare luscious and pretty desserts which can be made easily in a heartbeat.

I have made push up cakes before, but for this story I have decided to give them a Christmas makeover!

Gingerbread and Cream Cheese Frosting

Gingerbread and Cream Cheese Frosting

The dessert I have prepared uses a delicious gingerbread cake layered with fruit mince filling and topped with the new, ready-to-eat, PHILADELPHIA Cream Cheese Frosting. A deliciously creamy frosting with a hint of lemon that is so good I wanted to eat it straight from the tub.

PHILADELPHIA Cream Cheese Frosting is a delicious new frosting which can be found in the refrigerator section of the supermarket. It tastes exactly as if you have made it yourself, and it is just so convenient. There are two flavours, the cream cheese frosting with a hint of lemon, which I have used here in this dessert, or the Cadbury Chocolate frosting which tastes just like liquid Cadbury’s chocolate. YUM!

Keeping with the Christmas spirit the lovely people from Philadelphia Cream Cheese have given me five copies of their scrumptious “Simply Heaven Vol 3” dessert cookbook to giveaway to readers. About Julie

  1. My favourite frosting would have to be chocolate! I would love this cookbook in the lead up to Christmas when I start baking!

  2. These look scrummy Julie! Love the new blog template too.

  3. I’d have to say cream cheese because I have it less often and really enjoy it. Chocolate frosting is very easy to make; cream cheese frosting is much more exciting. Chocolate swirls can always be added to it anyway for extra effect.

  4. I would love the chocolate but both look and sound delicious!!

  5. Chocolate Frosting is Simply Heaven,
    Dripping from my lips,
    I’m pretty sure,
It’s not going to my hips!

  6. Sharon Fawcett :

I love cream cheese frosting because its less sweet tasting so I can fool myself into thinking it is good for me!

  7. I prefer chocolate frosting than cream cheese. These little Christmas treats look great!

  8. Because I like both I based this choice on how I feel today and looking at both I felt a slight more mouth watering feeling for the cream cheese frosting !

  9. Definitely the cream cheese with a hint of lemon! I’ve never been keen on icing because it’s usually too sweet, but recently I’ve found that I can eat plain icings like cream cheese and really enjoy it.

  10. Its so hard to choose i love both ,i guess if i have to pick i will sai cream cheese because it goes more with my carrot cake i love baking 🙂

  11. Both are really yummy but I do tend to side more with the chocolate 😀 what a fantastic giveaway so close to Christmas. Nanna and I always cook up a storm for Christmas, so this would give us more ideas and variety!

  12. Alice (Catblack) Mitchell :

I love both but i’d probably go with cream cheese

  13. Kimberly Featherstone :

Yummo for the Chocolate Frosting… so yummy and easy, no mess, no fuss

  14. Ooh, cream cheese please! It’s the main reason I love carrot cake, that thick lovely layer of cream cheese icing on top 🙂

  15. Definately chocolate- Im a chocoholic!!

  16. Hard to say which one is my favourite flavour of frosting, because I love both. My boy would love this push up cake. It looks beautiful but yummy.

  17. Love the cream cheese frosting with a hint of lemon. I just used it actually on some vanilla cupcakes I made!

  18. Chocolate, CHOCOLATE, CHOCOLATEEEEE!!!!!!! Nothing is more divineeee!

  19. Cream Cheese is yummy, but for the pleasure of my soul, to truly feel indulgent it has to be chocolate all the way.

  20. These are simply one of the most gorgeous pushcakes I have ever seen my friend, absolutely stunning 😀

    Choc Chip Uru

  29. renee hermansen :

i would have to say chocolate. yum

  30. Cream cheese frosting – perfect on a slice of warm carrot cake.

  31. Aaron Kaczmarczyk :

Chocolate frosting beats out Cream Cheese in a thrilling knockout final, can’t get enough of it!

  32. Chocolate, of course! I’m a little biased since chocolate is basically the best thing ever, but that’s hardly my fault, now is it?

  33. Chocolate..Chocolate…Chocolate…you don’t even need to give me other options!!

  34. Renee Ballantyne :

  38. First of all I want to say wonderful blog!
I had a quick question that I’d like to ask if you don’t
mind. I was curious to know how you center yourself and clear your head prior to writing.
I’ve had difficulty clearing my thoughts in getting my ideas out there. I do take pleasure in writing however it just seems like the first 10 to 15 minutes tend to be wasted simply just trying to figure out how to begin. Any recommendations or tips? Cheers!

    • Sometimes my enthusiasm allows the words to flow, other times I am overwhelmed and i can’t find any words 🙂 so thank you for your kind words but I don’t know if I can give you any advice 🙂

  39. Absolutely wonderful post !
Love your gingerbread push pop cakes for Christmas!
I noticed there is a comment inquiring where to buy push up cake holders.
