Good Morning Readers!
How are your Christmas plans going? Have you completed your Christmas shopping? Are you enjoying all the work Christmas parties and social events of the season yet?
Before we get too far into the silly season I thought I would share a quick detox smoothie recipe. The recipe comes from a book I’m reviewing called “Super Smoothies” by Fern Green.
I have 2 copies to giveaway at the end of this story!
“Super Smoothies” is a guide to detoxing the body with smoothies. It contains 61 healthy smoothies and 12 different programs which can be followed for 3 to 5 days.
Each of the programs targets specific conditions that may require a detox.
The Detox Smoothie Programs includes:
- Clear Skin
- Energy Booster
- Stress Buster
- Summer Booster
- Immune Booster
- Weight Loss Detox
- January Detox
Ingredients for the smoothies programs are chosen for their nutritional benefits and health giving properties.
If you want to design your own detox smoothie program there is also a section in the book that gives details how to achieve your personal detox goals. It explains the health benefits of the fruit and vegetables by colour and is really interesting.
Each of the detox programs includes 5 different detox smoothies and an 11.00am Cleansing Smoothie.
The recipe I’m sharing is called Purple Sunshine Detox Smoothie. I’ve modified the recipe slightly to add an Anti-Aging component. I have also included fresh ginger for it’s metabolism boosting properties. I’m not taking part in a detox cleanse, so I added extra water. This enabled me to drink my smoothie over the course of the day.
If you have ever considered a detox program Super Smoothies a great place to start. Fern Green has made everything so easy. She explains the reason for doing periodic detox programs and the potential benefits to your health and provided an exciting range of delicious smoothies to help achieve your goals.
Even if your not a detox type of person, the smoothies look pretty delicious. The first smoothie in the Super Smoothies is “Oaty Nana”. I will be making this smoothie for the kids in place of a regular banana smoothie. It looks so much nicer and far better in nutritional value.
Now I have a chance for two lucky readers to win a copy of Super Smoothies by Fern Green.
(I have one digital copy available and one paperback)
Please let me know below would you do a full detox, or are you planning to add a detox smoothie to your daily routine?
